How the Universe Will End

The Universe is currently expanding at around 150,000 miles per hour(240,000 kilometers per hour). At some point in time, the universe will end maybe due to this. Scientists have 4 theories about how the universe will end. The four theories are Big Crunch, Big Freeze, Big Rip, Big Bounce.

Big Crunch
How the Big Crunch Theory works

As the name suggests, in this theory the universe will collapse on its self.  In the universe, there is a theoretical object called "Dark Energy". This is what is making the universe expand at such a rapid rate. In the Big Crunch theory, the gravitational attraction of the objects within the universe will overcome Dark Energy and the universe will start decreasing in size until it reaches the point where the universe will collapse.

Big Rip

In this theory, the universe would reach the point where it has reached the maximum expansion. This is the distance where the universe has fully expanded. If the universe continues to expand beyond this point, the universe would rip in half.

Big Freeze

In this theory, the universe will infinitely expand. During this time stars would have burned out either turning into white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes. After trillions of years, the white dwarfs slowly become black dwarfs(the true end of a star), neutron stars will soon die because they need some type of source in order to produce heat to still maintain itself. After this occurs, black holes start to die off. Black holes die-off in a process called Hawking Radiation. In Hawking Radiation, a minute amount of mass gets radiated away from the black hole.

Big Bounce

In this theory, the universe will meet its fate through the Big Crunch theory. But after this occurs, a Big Bang is produced. This would mean that after this universe dies, and the new universe is born, and this would continue for an indefinite amount of time

The universe will die. It would die whether it being one of these theories or not. This is why people should focus on space exploration since people would be able to preserve life in the universe.
